Purpose

We are an association of past shipmates of the USS DeHaven (DD-469) & (DD-727).   Our Association has existed since 1991.

The purpose of our association is:

  • to preserve the memories and incidents of our members while on board the USS DeHaven DD 469/727

  • to solidify and preserve our comradeship by our devotion to mutual helpfulness

  • to foster and perpetuate patriotism;

  • to help any member who by natural disaster or flood or wind or by fire, in any manner available to the USS DeHaven Sailors Association for assistance.

The members of our Association enjoy our newsletter which is published at least 4 times per year.  Also, they are kept current on the status of our annual reunion.  The annual reunion is the time when we all get together to tell sea-stories, renew old friendships and make new ones.  They are a lot of fun.  The reunions are held in a different location each year, rotating between the west coast, the east coast and in-between.

Read the by-laws.

Reunions

The DeHaven Sailors Association takes care of all the planning for reunions that occur at least yearly. Please see the reunion page.
