Gerald Thomas Cacy 1927-2018
Gerald attended Gypsy Elementary School and Kellyville High School. Before graduating he left high school to join the Navy during World War II. He served aboard the USS DeHaven DD-727. About 20 years ago he was given an honorary diploma along with other World War II veterans at a ceremony in Tulsa. He worked as an aircraft mechanic for both American Airlines and McDonnell Douglas. Gerald married Sarah Helen Calvert and the couple was blessed with 2 children and 54 years of marriage prior to her passing in June of 2000. He was a loving and even-tempered father and would do anything for his children and grandchildren. He was an active member of Beams of Light Church, first in Sapulpa and then at the Beams of Light in Tulsa for 43 years. He was a 42-year colon cancer survivor. He had a fondness for antique tractors and enjoyed rebuilding them. He and his wife enjoyed traveling together. Each winter they would spend 3 months camping in the southwest, a favorite place to camp was Yuma, AZ. He also enjoyed Alaskan cruises. Gerald was preceded in death by his wife Sarah Cacy; his parents King and Sarah Cacy; and siblings King Cacy, Virginia Murray, Nadine Corbett and Charlene Bradshaw. He is survived by his children Shawn Cacy and his wife Pam and Gretchen Cacy; grandchildren Tim Scott, Daniel Scott, Shawna Scott, Sarah Wilson, Megan Mayer, Chad Cacy and Ali Cacy; great-grandchildren Tim Scott, III, Zachary Scott, Garrett Furr-Monrita, Hunter Scott, Cierra Wilson, Benjamin Scott, Jeffrey Wilson and Lincoln Mayer; siblings Paul Cacy and Albert Cacy; as well as many more family and friends.
