Joe E. Chumbley 1933-2018
Joe valiantly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1954 aboard the the USS DeHaven DD-727 and again in the U.S. Army from 1959-1979 when he retired from the military. In the civilian world, Joe worked in the field of electronics and retired from Cincinnati Electronics. Joe enjoyed traveling, especially to see his family, whom he loved very much and enjoyed spending his time with. He liked to dine out, and watch a Cincinnati Reds or Bengals game. No matter who might be there, Joe would go to military reunions and enjoy time with his fellow servicemen. Joe was also a proud member of the El Maida Shriners Drum and Bugle Corps, and was a 32nd degree mason of the Scottish Rite in El Paso, TX. After the death of his wife, Joe relocated to Nolanville, TX and resided with his son and daughter-in-law. Joe is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 35 years Veanetta nee: Corbin; parents; brother, Bill Chumbley and sisters, Margaret Yost and Louise Reed. He is survived by son Joseph (Lorri) Chumbley of Nolanville, TX; daughter, Connie (Bill) Crawn of Constableville, NY; many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. |
