Verle "Kenneth" Crowl 1944-2020

Born Oct. 5, 1944, to Ellis and Lovell Crowl in Canton, Illinois, the world got to know Verle “Kenneth” Crowl as a great son, brother, husband, father, uncle, granddad and friend. He was never without a twinkle in his eye or a smile on his face.

At a young age his family moved to Weston, Oregon. He grew up in a farming community. After high school he joined the Navy and served on the USS DeHaven DD-727 and saw many places that most of us only dream of.

Married and with two daughters, he followed his brother and sister to Alaska for new adventures. Upon returning to the Seattle area he began working at Lynden Transport until he retired 30 years later.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Ellis and Lovelle, and brothers Marion “Ernie” and William “Bill.”

He is survived by his wife, Risë, and daughters, Shannon Crowl and Paula Sobley (Wade), seven grandkids and one great-granddaughter; his sister, Helen Darrow, and brother, Paul Crowl; many nieces and nephews; and the best friends.

Ken passed away Sept. 10, 2020, after many years of trying to stay one step ahead of Parkinsons.

Ken will always be remembered for his unconditional love, his generosity and honesty, humor, strength and love for golf, cigars and ice cream. We were all blessed to be part of his life.
