Donald F. Daugherty, age 74 of Chattanooga died Monday September
7, 2004 in a local hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident
of Chattanooga and was a member of First Wesleyan Church. He was
retired from Rock-Tenn after 25 years of service. He was the owner
of Red Bank Shoe Shop for more than 20 years. He was a Korean War
Veteran serving in the United States Navy and was a member of the
American Legion and the V.F.W. in Marietta, Georgia; Mr. Daugherty was the son of the late John & Irene Daugherty and was preceded in death by one grandson, Jason Daugherty. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy Daugherty; children, Donald Glen Daugherty of Chattanooga; Larry S. (Gail) Daugherty of Waleska, Georgia; Karen Irene Marshall of Chattanooga; grandson, Matthew Daugherty of Waleska, Georgia; sisters, Peggy Cooper of Lakeview, Georgia; Anna Lee Carson of Chattanooga; Ralph (Louise) Daugherty and Truman (Gail) Daugherty all of Chattanooga; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the East Chapel with Rev. David Marcum and Rev. David Cobb officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions ma be made to First Wesleyan Church at 7725 Shallowford Road, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37421. Arrangements are by Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist, 404 South Moore Road, Chattanooga, Tennessee. |
