Merle David Edwards 1953-2022

Merle David Edwards, 69, of New Holstein, passed away Sept 30, 2022.  Merle was born June 12, 1953, in Sheboygan to the late Ruth (Lubbers) and William Edwards.  He attended Cedar Grove schools and Lakeshore Technical upon high school graduation.   He served in the Navy as a cook (CS3)—perfecting his cooking skills on rough seas aboard the USS DeHaven in 1972-73,

For a number of years Merle worked for the Bemis company and for a U.S. company based in China where he found an appreciation for Asian foods and Chinese culture.  He was working for the Plymouth School District at the time of his death.

Merle had an adventurous spirit and he experimented with various foods both in his cooking and gardening.  He enjoyed outdoor activities like hunting and was a devoted Green Bay Packer fan.

Merle is survived by his son, Andrew and grandchildren Logan and Addison, of Walden, N.Y., his step-daughter, Audra Duby his step-son, Steve Duby, and step-grandchildren Lesenia Fish, Tyler Duby and Derek Duby. 

He is further survived by his sisters Margaret Heinen and Mary (Duane) Wilterdink  of Centennial, Colorado and brother, Michael (Julie) Edwards of Waukesha, Wisconsin.
