Dick Evans 1926-2019

93 year old, Dick ‘Red’ Evans of DeMotte, passed away April 25, 2019.

On January 5, 1926, Dick was born to Howard and Emily (Fisher) Evans in DeMotte, Indiana. He was a lifetime area resident. Dick graduated from DeMotte High School in 1944, and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy. He served aboard the USS DeHaven DD-727 during WWII.

He married the love of his life, Rosemary Irene Muraida on June 14, 1952 at the Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church, Wheatfield, Indiana. Dick was a farmer, an original member of the DeMotte American Legion Post #440, and a member of the USS DeHaven DD-727 Sailors Association.

Dick is survived by his loving family, wife: Irene, son: Thomas ‘Jr’ (Jodie) Evans, 4 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, son: Randy, and 1 brother.
