Dale W. Hoffschneider 1932-2009

Rev. Dale W. Hoffschneider, a retired Lutheran Pastor, was called to glory on December 2, age 76, following a lengthy illness. He was born December 19, 1932 in York County Nebraska.

Dale served aboard the USS DeHaven DD-727 during Korea from 1951 to 1954 as a Quartermaster Third Class (QM3). He was a member of the USS DeHaven Sailors Association.

As an ordained minister, Dale served parishes in Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania and East Los Angeles. He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church and led a Christ Care group. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Gertrude, and two sons, Joel of Fort Wayne and Jonathan of Takoma Park, Maryland and three grandchildren, Melissa, Michelle and Benjamin, as well as one brother, Lee, of Lincoln, Nebraska. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Virgil and Loren as well as two sons, Fred and Charles
