Edward Ray Ledyard 1941-2011

Edward Ray Ledyard, 70, of Punta Gorda passed away Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011.

He was born July 8, 1941 in Toledo, OH to Edward and Hazel ( Lenix) Ledyard. Ed served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era aboard the USS DeHaven DD-727 from 1962-1965 as an IC2.

He was a Quality Assurance Manager for Halmar Electronics and LEM for 38 years. Ed was actively involved and served as Vice President of the Blue Heron Pines Home Owners Association. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, taking walks, and going fishing.

Ed volunteered his time at Horn of Plenty for needy families in Punta Gorda.

He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 45 years, Rita; loving father of, Amy Caudill of South Lyon, MI, Edward Ledyard of Charlotte, NC and Arte Ledyard of Harpers Ferry, WV; devoted grandfather of, Lindsey, Jenny, Nick, Charlie, Tatum and Hyatt. A service to celebrate Ed's life was held at 10:00am, Saturday, November 5, 2011 at First United Methodist Church, 507 W. Marion Ave, Punta Gorda.
