James W. MorrisonCHESAPEAKE - James W. "Jim" Morrison passed away Aug. 11, 2005. Born in Jane Lew, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Scott and Bessie Morrison. He was the husband of the late Helen Creager Morrison, to whom he was married May 6, 1950. He was also preceded in death by his brother Albert Lewis Morrison. He as a retired chief gunners mate from the U.S. Navy after 20 years and also retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 18 years. He was a Methodist. He was a member of Norview Masonic Lodge No. 113 AF&AM and had been a member of Luther Burbank Lodge, Santa Rosa, California for 20 years. Before becoming a member at Norview Lodge. He was also a member of Norfolk Consistory Scottish Rite Bodies, Khedive Temple of the Shrine, Fleet Reserve Association Branch No. 60, and Pearl Harbor Survivors Association Chapter No. 2, Tidewater. He served aboard the USS Cassin (DD372) before World War 11, USS Balch (DD-363), USS Sarsfield (DD827): USS E.F. Larson (DDR-830), USS DeHaven (DD-727) and USS Stormes (DD-780). Jim is survived by his son, J. Scott Morrison and wife Diane Baum Morrison and two grandsons, Robert and Brian Morrison, all of Virginia Beach, Virginia A funeral will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday in Hollomon Brown Funeral Home Kempsville Chapel, by the Rev. Leonard Hazelwood. A grave side service with military honors will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
