Vernon Clayton Poole 1931-2018

Vernon was born on July 23, 1931 and passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2018.

Vernon was a resident of Mississippi at the time of passing.

Mr. Poole served his country in the Navy for four years during the Korean War aboard the USS DeHaven DD-727 as an Electricians mate. He was very patriotic.

Mr. Poole loved and taught vocational agriculture for thirty-two years. He was also a sponser for FFA. He took students to Dixie National Rodeo and Livestock shows every year. He loved the Bible. Along with being an active member, he taught Bible Class for many years at Northcrest Baptist Church. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Mr. Poole had a great sense of humor; he was quick witted, and he picked at everyone.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Janie Merle White Poole; children, Vernon Clayton “Clay” Poole, Jr. (Janet), John Mark Poole (Robbie), Benjamin Dane Poole (Tina), Trudy Veonne Howell (Tim); grandchildren, Ben Poole (Cindy), Andy Poole (Carrie), Shane Poole, Justin Poole, Josh Poole, Jacob Poole, Jaret Poole, Jessica Smith (Roger), Kyra Jane Howell, and Maria Noelle Howell; great-grandchildren, Theo and Lewis Smith; sisters, Geraldine Davis and Maxine Sharp (Kenard); and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Lillie Poole and his brothers, Dewayne Poole and Raymond Poole.
