Victor Hugo Steelreath 1930-2020
Victor joined the United States Navy out of high school and served in the Korean Conflict. He was stationed aboard the USS DeHaven DD-727 as a ME3. He then joined the Naval Reserves after leaving the Navy, where he served until he retired from the Reserves in 1979. He joined the Civil Service after leaving the Navy and was stationed at Brookley Field. He later transferred to Eglin Air Force Base. He worked for the Civil Service as a machinist until he retired in 1985. After retirement, Victor was able to take his skills as a machinist to a new level, creating beautiful pieces of art and helpful tools and parts. His skills and precision were well known, helping neighbors and friends who were in need of having parts built. He continued to create beautiful pieces until his death. |
